When we use the word I know, there is an element of certainty that the Lord will always deliver us from distress. Job was a righteous man who could easily have given all the reasons as to why he should have not gone through such a trying time, suffering great loss. Yet, he is very confident that he was going to see better days of restoration when he makes this wonderful statement
Job 8:20-21″Surely God does not reject a blameless man or strengthen the hands of evildoers. He will yet fill your mouth with laughter and your lips with shouts of joy.
How often do we really believe the words we speak eg., that God is not a man that He would lie. On the other hand how do we receive a word of encouragement, what is the condition of the ground of our hearts. Do we receive it in meekness or dismiss it with the thought that its not going to happen.
Gen 17:17 Abraham fell face-down; he laughed and said to himself, “Will a son be born to a man a hundred years old? And God answered yes.
Gen 18:12 So Sarah laughed to herself she was told she will bare a son
Gen 18:13-15 Then the LORD said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh and say, ‘Will I really have a child, now that I am old?’ 14 Is anything too hard for the LORD? I will return to you at the appointed time next year and Sarah will have a son.” Sarah was afraid, so she lied and said, “I did not laugh.” But he said, “Yes, you did laugh.”
Was the Lord saying that you laughter now because of your circumstances is a one of scorn but I will fill your mouth with laughter of joy.
Gen 21:1 Now the LORD was gracious to Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did for Sarah what he had promised.
Gen 21:6-7 And Sarah declared, “God has brought me laughter! All who hear about this will laugh with me.
